Pat and Eric Goldsmith, childhood sweethearts and staunch supporters of FIG, very generously shared the celebrations of their 45^th wedding anniversary with over 40 FIG volunteers and supporters.  They hosted a party at the Adres Restaurant and treated everyone to a lovely meal, finishing with a generous portion of chocolate, wedding anniversary cake.

In a wonderful gesture, Pat particularly asked that their guests made a donation to FIG funds rather than bringing them a present.  This was because she wanted yet another school and its children helped as Pat stated that this type of work is very dear to her heart.

You can find Pat and Eric at our coffee morning, where she is a regular volunteer, both making cakes for you to enjoy and serving out the coffees and teas as well as finding time to stop and have a chat.

Pat and Eric, have been regular visitors to Turkey for many years and came to live here just over 2 years ago, amongst Turkish neighbours, some of whom have been friends since their first visit over 12 years ago.  Indeed they were having another celebration the following evening with their neighbours on the actual anniversary of their wedding.

FIG is fortunate indeed to have such a couple to support its activities and their unparalleled generosity is an example to all.  Fig has promised that the funds they raised will be spent on ‘something special’ for a small village school and will be ascribed to them.
