Special Needs being met.

I am pleased to be able to say that the young boy who received the hearing aids is now doing well.  In addition to his normal schooling he is given speech therapy, which is much more productive now that he can hear and his speech is improving rapidly.  He, his mother and especially his teacher are very happy at the results. The last time we had contact his mother related that he had asked ‘what is that sound?’ it was a bird singing …. the things most of us take for granted!

We are still chasing the case of the young boy with hydrocephalus and following what appears to have been a misunderstanding by his mother should hopefully soon see that his distress is on its way to be relieved.

We also have a case of a young girl with a serious squint that has been too long untreated.  Current plans are that as soon as the summer holidays start, she will be taken to an eye specialist, probably in Izmir, where the squint can be corrected.  Examinations in Fethiye showed she still has some sight in the eye, but the cornea has deteriorated due to being covered for so long.

We now keep a separate account of donations made and monies collected for special needs of these kinds.  Many, many thanks to all of you who do support us and enable this type of help to made.
